Collien Fernandes is a German model, TV presenter, and actress, who began her career as a model at the early age of 15. Over the next few years, Collien worked as a model for Otto, Neckermann, BeeDees and various other companies. She has also been in German ads for Mercedes-Benz and Ferrero’s Kinder Bueno. In addition to her work modeling, Collien has worked as a dancer. She also worked as a dancer in a number of music videos, alongside stars such as Enrique Iglesias, Shaggy, and the band Modern Talking. She herself was a member of two bands, Suco e Sol and Yam Yam.
Collien Fernandes’s first steady job on TV began in 2001, as a host for Bravo TV. After leaving Bravo TV, she appeared on two episodes of Elton.tv, was a contestant on Die 1. offizielle WOK-WM, and guest starred in Blondes Gift. Her first movie role was in the 2004 film Autobahnraser and later that year she starred in Snow Fever and Die Nacht der lebenden Loser. Die Nacht der lebenden Loser is German for Night of the Living Dorks and was released under that name in the US. It was released in the US by Anchor Bay Entertainment three years after it had been shown in Germany.
In 2008, Collien Fernandes played the part of Sonnenschein in the TV show Dr. Molly & Karl. The entire cast, including Collien, was nominated for an Adolf Grimme Award. The award is now known as a Grimme Award and is the German equivalent of a TV Oscar. A year later, Collien appeared in one episode of the show Alarm fur Cobra 11 – Die Autobahnpolizei, which translates to mean Alarm for Cobra 11- The Motorway Police. The show has been running for over 15 seasons and has aired in over 20 countries worldwide, though it has never been shown in the United States.
Collien Fernandes has been featured on numerous other TV shows. She guest starred in Lutter in 2009 and was in the 2010 TV movie CIS – Chaoten im Sondereinsatz. In 2010 alone, Collien made appearances on TV total, NDR Talk Show, Darf ich bitten…!, and Die Oliver Pocher Show. Collien Fernandes had two movies in 2011, including Bela Kiss, a horror movie which was based on the true story of a serial killer during the early 19th century. Collien is popular as well, and one German magazine voted her the 2003 and 2006 Women of the Year, while another placed her at the top of the list in 2010.
In 2009, Collein joined with the fashion label armedangels to design her own t-shirt, which were sold through the label’s online store. The label stands for clothes that are both chic and guilt free. They are eco-friendly, against child labor and pollution, and only work with companies that are fair trade certified. Collein’s first t-shirt designs for the label were embellished with the motto, “One Good Deed Every Day.” For each shirt sold, the amount of five euro was donated to St. Catherine’s Home, a children’s home located in Mumbai, India.
